Our Approach

Fishing gear developed with purpose

SaltVector is an Australian fishing brand focused on practical innovation, considered design and real world performance.

Every product begins with a reason to exist. That might mean creating a different lure action, improving how a rod feels in the hand or solving a problem experienced on the water.

Why SaltVector exists

We do not make products different just for attention. We make them different when there is a reason.

SaltVector grew from a hands on approach to fishing product development. Lure concepts are modelled in CAD, prototype moulds are produced, materials are tested and designs are refined through observation and use.

The aim is not to make products different just to attract attention. Every profile, material choice and construction detail should contribute to how the product performs.

Products are developed and tested around Australian fishing conditions, including estuaries, inshore reefs, rock ledges and headlands. The environments, species and ways people fish help shape what gets made.

Development is ongoing and not every concept will reach production. Products must earn their place in the range through testing, refinement and genuine usefulness.

What guides us

Three principles behind every decision

These principles guide every product decision, from the first concept through to testing and refinement.

01

Performance first

Appearance matters, but performance comes first. A product has to work in the conditions and applications it was designed for.

02

Purposeful innovation

Every feature needs a reason. SaltVector develops products to improve performance, solve a fishing problem or create a genuinely useful presentation.

03

Tested and refined

Prototypes are compared, adjusted and tested repeatedly. What we learn goes back into the design until the result performs consistently in real conditions.

How products are developed

A process that keeps moving until the result is right

Development does not always move cleanly from one stage to the next. Testing can reveal something that sends the design back for another round of changes.

  1. 01

    Concept

A product begins with a specific fishing problem, missing behaviour or opportunity to improve performance.

  2. 02

    Design

The profile, dimensions, construction and intended behaviour are developed with careful control.

  3. 03

    Prototype

Small runs are produced so different versions of the same concept can be compared.

  4. 04

    Test

The product is observed in controlled testing and then assessed in the real conditions it was designed for.

  5. 05

    Refine

Findings return to the design. The details that influence performance are adjusted before testing begins again.

  6. 06

    Release

A product moves forward only when it performs consistently and has earned its place in the range.
